We showed in part I that the Hopf algebra H of Feynman graphs in a given QFT is the algebra of coordinates on a complex infinite dimensional Lie group G and that the renormalized theory is obtained from the unrenormalized one by evaluating at ε = 0 the holomorphic part γ+(ε) of the Riemann–Hilbert decomposition γ−(ε) γ+(ε) of the loop γ(ε) ∈ G provided by dimensional regularization. We show in this paper that the group G acts naturally on the complex space X of dimensionless coupling constants of the theory. More precisely, the formula g0 = gZ1Z −3/2 3 for the effective coupling constant, when viewed as a formal power series, does define a Hopf algebra homomorphism between the Hopf algebra of coordinates on the group of formal diffeomorphisms to the Hopf algebra H. This allows first of all to read off directly, without using the group G, the bare coupling constant and the renormalized one from the Riemann–Hilbert decomposition of the unrenormalized effective coupling constant viewed as a loop of formal diffeomorphisms. This shows that renormalization is intimately related with the theory of non-linear complex bundles on the Riemann sphere of the dimensional regularization parameter ε. It also allows to lift both the renormalization group and the β-function as the asymptotic scaling in the group G. This exploits the full power of the Riemann–Hilbert decomposition together with the invariance of γ−(ε) under a change of unit of mass. This not only gives a conceptual proof of the existence of the renormalization group but also delivers a scattering formula in the group G for the full higher pole structure of minimal subtracted counterterms in terms of the residue. $L_{p;r} $ spaces: Cauchy Singular Integral, Hardy Classes and Riemann-Hilbert Problem in this Framework

In the present work the space  $L_{p;r} $ which is continuously embedded into $L_{p} $  is introduced. The corresponding Hardy spaces of analytic functions are defined as well. Some properties of the functions from these spaces are studied. The analogs of some results in the classical theory of Hardy spaces are proved for the new spaces. It is shown that the Cauchy singular integral operator is...

Renormalization in Quantum Field Theory and the Riemann–Hilbert problem

We show that renormalization in quantum field theory is a special instance of a general mathematical procedure of multiplicative extraction of finite values based on the Riemann–Hilbert problem. Given a loop γ(z), |z| = 1 of elements of a complex Lie group G the general procedure is given by evaluation of γ+(z) at z = 0 after performing the Birkhoff decomposition γ(z) = γ−(z) γ+(z) where γ±(z) ...

From Physics to Number theory via Noncommutative Geometry, II

We give here a comprehensive treatment of the mathematical theory of per-turbative renormalization (in the minimal subtraction scheme with dimensional regularization), in the framework of the Riemann–Hilbert correspondence and motivic Galois theory. We give a detailed overview of the work of Connes– Kreimer [31], [32]. We also cover some background material on affine group schemes, Tannakian ca...

A more accurate half-discrete Hardy-Hilbert-type inequality with the best possible constant factor related to the extended Riemann-Zeta function

By the method of weight coefficients, techniques of real analysis and Hermite-Hadamard's inequality, a half-discrete Hardy-Hilbert-type inequality related to the kernel of the hyperbolic cosecant function with the best possible constant factor expressed in terms of the extended Riemann-zeta function is proved. The more accurate equivalent forms, the operator expressions with the norm, the rever...

Renormalization of Quantum Electrodynamics and Hopf Algebras

In 1999, A. Connes and D. Kreimer have discovered the Hopf algebra structure on the Feynman graphs of scalar field theory. They have found that the renormalization can be interpreted as a solving of some Riemann — Hilbert problem. In this work a generalization of their scheme to the case of quantum electrodynamics is proposed. The action of the gauge group on the Hopf algebra of diagrams are de...
